Here are recent rough notes from the site:
Modern music is getting sadder and angrier, which is a form of diagnostic about where we are in this societal cycle. You can look at this with a Fourth Turning lens, or choose your perspective, but it is an important long wave, accelerating with geopolitics and AI. https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2026/01/19/popular-music-is-getting-sadder-and-angstier
AI/AGI have been turned into "normal business", which is profoundly risk-increasing:

One of the (many) supercycle arguments made around the economic ecology of AI data center is that were are in a Cement Supercycle. After all, so goes the argument, we are building many data centers, all of which requires immense amounts of cement, just in time to ;pick up the slack from the decline in China demand.
BUt ... as a recent JPM report points out, data centers aren't all that wrt cement. They only use about a third the cement of comparablly sized CRE.
Two pieces on the Chinese takeover of European EV markets caught my eye today:
- The U.S. has functionally exited EV competition, with it going from strategic to orphaned
- China share has soared from 1% to 10% of UK market in three years
- The Temu "Range Rover" clone is among the hottest cars in U.K. roads
